Nov 2, 2009 On tap at TBC a few weeks back. Probably the most disappointing beer of the day. Poured a dark brown color with a smallish head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt and chalk. Flavor had a lot of caramel and roasted malt, but it just wasn’t that great for me.

Jul 23, 2009 From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown, clear and with a deep amber glare. Aroma is roasted malt, light breadish. Flavour is bitter, roasted malt and dark breadish. Bitter and roasted malt flavoured finish.

Jul 20, 2009 On tap. Clear, dark orangey brown with an off-white head. Aroma of hard roasted malt and licorice. Medium body, hard roasted malt, a little coffee and licorice. Some malt bitterness in the finish. 060709

Jul 4, 2009 On tap at TBC.. Pours a darker shade of brown with a thin white head. Looks a little on the thin side.. Aroma is sweet roasted malts. Flavor is a very nice roastiness with some dark fruits and coffee. I thought it was tasty.

Dec 5, 2008 On tap at the Tustin Brew Pub in Tustin, CA.
Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Lacing left on the glass. Aromas of roast, chocolate, and a little earthy. Tastes of roast, semi-sweet chocolate, and had a lighter coffee finsih.

Jan 7, 2008 Tap @ the brewpub. Poured a very dark, almost opaque color with a ruby tint and off-white head. Some coffee over a sweet roasted malt makes up the aroma. Some ashiness. Coffee and mildly sweet roasted malt flavor. Light fruitiness. Light-medium body.
