OC tour, tap at brewpub: Deep brown with small head and minimal lace, a bit oily. The aroma has notes of coffee, chocolate, hazelnut, charred malt, plum and anise. The taste is your standard fare of coffee, chocolate, nut, mild fruit with a light grassy bitterness. The feel is lively and chalky. A good brew and drinkable.

After the big hangers in El Toro, its big like the hangers. thick and chewy roast and chocolate. I had the last of one of the tank or keg to blow so all the malts were at the bottom. Extremely good beer

[At GABF 2004] A red-brown beer with a small disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate, while the flavor is malty with roasted notes combined with hints of chocolate. Unfortunately the body is thin.

Dark appearance with ruby red refractions. Creamy chocolate and coffee aroma. Emphasised bittersweet dark chocolate, creamy coffee roast and mildly bitter roasty finish. Sweetness of chocolate balances well.

Cloudy brown color with a smallish head. Bittersweet chocolate aroma. The first taste is a sour bitterness and sweet chocolate. Light and mellow and sweet. Could use some more hops to balance out the chocolate sweetness.
