OC tour, tap at brewpub (reported at 9.5-10% ABV): Ruby and coppery hue with very good lace. The aroma has notes of fruit (plum, juniper berry, grapefruit), caramel, mineral, grassy and resiny hops, anise, and clove esters. The taste is fruity and acidic to balance a heavy sweet malt. At touch spicy and alcoholic as well. The feel is biting and lively with a warming character. This is really good and appears to still be young and brash. This is worth a stop if on tap. (Love the name!)

2001 vintage on draft. dark ruby pour with a decent tan head. Nice cherry notes sitting on a big malt backbone. A touch of sweetness at the middle. Medium bodied. Very accessible barley wine.

On tap GABF 02: Sweet malt aroma, syrupy flat body Almost a orange ruby color with a huge head. Ends sweet. A bit light for a barleywine.
