The aroma has notes of fruit (plum, juniper berry, grapefruit), caramel, mineral, grassy and resiny hops, anise, and clove esters. The taste is fruity and acidic to balance a heavy sweet malt. At touch spicy and alcoholic as well. The feel is biting and lively with a warming character. This is really good and appears to still be young and brash. This is worth a stop if on tap. (Love the name!) DuffManSW (293), Riverside, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2009 On Cask at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown/red with a light tan creamy head and a cool looking cascading effect. Aroma is very sweet with lots of brown sugar and caramel. Flavor is much the same, little to no hops. Sweet, would be a good dessert beer. Thick and syrupy and maybe a little bit cloying, but still enjoyable. JohnC (2279), Mission Viejo, California, USA
