CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 10, 2008 On cask at the brewpub on 5/2/08: Pours a nearly opaque with a foamy froth of spotty-lacing dark tan head. Smooth, roasty, chocolatey nose has a touch more sweetness than the non-cask aged version, but I don’t detect much applewood character. Body starts with decent fullness and some light sweetness with a roasty dark chocolate finish. Wish there was more woody character, but I still think this is smoother and more balanced than the tap version. jimbowood (947), Athens, Georgia, USA May 3, 2008 cask at the brewpub. huge head for a cask ale. A little watery and not a huge oaks flavor. Just okay. shp555 (1678), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 30, 2008 Pours an opaque black color with a tan head.
