Hoppy pine aroma. Bronze golden coloured citrus flavoured and hoppy with a slightly bitter malt finish. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 8, 2009 Pours a slightly hazy deep copper color with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, toast, nice malt, citrus, and some nice spicy hops.
Flavor is nice malty, toast, some crystal malt, some citrus, and a earthy spicy bitter finish.
daknole (2802), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 2, 2009 Amber pour. Malt forward aroma and flavor. Caramel malt has a big presence while the floral and citrus hops are pushed to the back seat. Just ok. CheersMate1 (766), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 3, 2009 Fairly decent IPA. Nice malt presence. Nice dark caramel brown in color. Pretty much opaque. Nice hoppy aroma. The hops don’t make as much of a presence in the flavor as they do in the aroma. Leaves some nice lacing; served in a 20 oz. glass. The palate of all Twain’s beers are too thin. I really enjoyed this one for its hop aroma, but the hop flavor was a bit muted. The beer was pretty good for a local beer. I have had bad experiences with Twains before, but this time it was a great one, especially with this beer. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Mar 5, 2009 Slightly hazed amber/orange pour with fluffy head and lace. Light malt and citrus hops on the nose and a flavor that follows. Medium bodied with silky carbonation. A beer that is more like a high end pa but certainly a very nice drinkable beer. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 6, 2009 Golden-amber. Herbal, somewhat earthy nose. Toasty palate, with hints of caramel and a slightly herbal bitterness. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 4, 2009 Bright warm amber, off-white head. SMells malty and heavy with some fruity esters. Not enough hops for me. Fruity juicy body. Too sweet but nevertheless well-made. jrob21 (1251), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 24, 2008 On tap at the Brewpub. Most lasting impression is the piney hop flavors with a tinge of grapefruit bitterness. Aroma is not as telling of the overall flavor but there is some citrus and pine in there as well. Pretty good balance with a bit of caramel malt in the flavor. Nice IPA.
