KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 22, 2008 Draft. Pours a golden ruby color. Beige head. Aroma of piney hops. Initial flavor of earthy hops. This gives way to a big dose of caramel malts. Bitingly bitter finish. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Feb 14, 2008 On tap at the bp. A light amber pour with light off white head. Nose of light fruitiness and hints of hops. Malt on the front followed by a very good almost hard bitter that hangs with you for a while. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. Very nice flavor, finish, and carbonation. Nice offering. Sammy (3928), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 10, 2008 On-tap at the brewpub. No aroma perhaps bleach in cup. Fuggle hops and roastiness, cloudy orange. High carbonation. Bitterness finishes with botterness and sweet. Like a double red. This was called an India Red, so perhaps the hops have been turned up here.Drinkable. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Nov 20, 2007 This was much better than the Gingerbread beer (but I still give props to that beer’s creativity). Hazy red body. The aroma is a full of leafy hops, probably heavy on centennial, but I could be wrong. there’s a good balance for an IPA like beer, but this is obviously meant to be a hop monster. tjthresh (1740), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Oct 31, 2007 12 ounce pour at the brewpub
Pours more orange than red. Thick sticky off white head.
All grapefruit in the aroma.
Piney hop flavor that seemed to change over to herbs. Really bitter.
Light body. Medium carbonation. Dry finish.
I enjoyed it. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2007 on tap-pours a dissipating off white head that laces and ? color. Aroma is light malt, secondary earthy hops. Taste is light malt, secondary earthy/flat hops. OK/mild carbonation. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Oct 17, 2007 Nose is very hoppy and fresh. Citrus is very present. Pours clear amber with white head. Taste is hoppy and very bitter with some sweetness. A good IRA. CaptainCougar (5374), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 28, 2007 On tap: Pours a transparent glowing copper with a frothy, well-lacing, off-white head. Aroma of big, fresh grapefruity hops and a touch of toasted malt. Body starts fairly full with a light caramel malty sweetness and big bittering hoppy presence throughout, toward a drier bittersweet finish. Could use a little more flavor hops and less bittering hops for balance. Otherwise a pretty decent IRA.
