opaque orange, fine off white head, lots of thick drippy lace, sweet citrus aroma along with earthy hops, creamy body, big dry caramel malt flavor followed by lots of earthy hop flavor and a long bitter finish, just a bit of sweetness for balance, a good drinking IPA but not that far from the pale ale

huge citrus aroma, lots of citrus hop flavor balanced with caramel sweetness, lasting bitter finish, the hops are bigger this time around and better balanced with the caramel sweetness,

Fresh, piny hoppy aroma has a good caramel malty presence. Body starts fairly sweet and full with lots of good, fresh piny and citrusy hops. A very nice, balanced and drinkable IPA. Extra hops during conditioning brought the IBU up. Good bitterness, grapefruit, and medium mouthfeel. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Pours an amber with a good head. The aroma is hops (centennial and amarill perhaps?) straight from the bag. The malt profile is solid, although it perhaps overbalances the hop bitterness keeping this from being a good IPA in the flavor. alexanderj (2280), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 On tap; was a little disappointed in this one. Poured a golden amber. Aroma is of flowers and citrus. Didn’t find it all that hoppy; would have liked a little more. Did manage to maintain a solid balance. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2007 This IPA is a clear deep amber brew that throws up a long lasting off-white head.
A touch of sourness noted in the aroma is a bit off, but there are some good hops in there too.
The flavor balance is to the bitter side from start to finish.
Not bad, but a tweak or two would improve this greatly. Definitely worth trying all of the Twain’s brews again as they settle into their routine at this newer Decatur Ga brewpub. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2008 On tap at T’s. Amber whit pour with light frothy head and lace. Malt and hops on the nose. Very malty flavor with decnet hop to balance it out. Semit sweet on the front. Decent carbonation and palate is pretty solid. A tad above average but very clean crisp and refreshing. Will be my beer of choice for a pint the next time I’m here.
