A delicious strong dark mild, traditionally brewed, using light crystal and two different chocolate malts.
Inspired by Strawberry Hill House, the "Little Gothick Castle", not so far from the brewery.

A Mes rate: cask at The Rake.
An excellent dark ruby brown with a good beige head and great condition. Aroma of fruit, chocolate malt, glorious earth and malt plus some light hops. The flavour is pretty much as the nose but done so well. The earthy malt is plucked fresh from the ground still covered in soil. Excellent smoke, roasted nuts and hop finish. Great stuff, typical Tom.

Draught. Dark black red. Little aroma, mainly dark / burnt malt. Medium body with light carbonation. Flavour of dark malt, bitter. Not really to my taste.

Cask. A dark nut-brown beer with a cream colored head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and nuts, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

Bottled bright from Kingston BF 2007. Deep rich chestnut colour. Lost a bit of condtition. Dark mild aroma, bit of light coffee and dark toffee. Decent dark ale. Good balance and lasting earthy dry finish. Fine.

Cask@Ealing BF. A very pleasant mild ale, with sublte roasted malt characters, and a subtle caramely sweetness, and perhaps also a little bit of treacle. Very drinkable stuff.
