Nutty sweet nose. Grainy deep orange color. nice malty sweetness with a solid bitterness backbone. Well carbonated, bright finish. Better than average Amber.

tap at the brewpub - Pours brown with a thin white head. It has the expected caramel malt aroma with a hint of hops. The flavor is more hopped than usual for the style. The body is light to medium and overall it’s an easily quaffed but fairly average brew.

Had this beer on 3/9/1999. Color is a hazy brown with good carbonation and a nice head. Aroma is light with a bit of hops in it. Taste is very hoppy. It starts off with a medium body that goes down smooth with a nice malt taste. Finish is full of hop flavor and a good bitterness. In the end it’s actually a better Pale Ale than an Amber.

Fake Burnt taste. Brown sugar, fake, macro, uninspiring. Bad beer. Straw, hay, artificial. Ugh.

Poured a medium brown color. Aroma was of vegetables. Astringent taste, while the finish reminded me vaguely of the way paint thinner smells. I could only hope my negative perception of this was based on drunken stupor, but this was pretty bad all around. Perhaps it was better in 1996, where it apparantly won a gold medal?

Dark gold color, no head. Almost no aroma, slightly sweet plastic. Medium to light body. Flavor is bad - bittersweet candy.

Clear light brown to rusty orange color. Thick foamy cream colored head. Grapefruit and sweet apples in the aroma over toasted bread. Thick medium-dark malt backbone, slightly nutty and spicy. Hop bitterness on the back of the tongue keeps it in check. Nice hop aroma, nice malt flavor. A little thin palate.

bottle. light orange tan body with a nice grayish white head. sweet oramge nose with a bit caramel. the sweetness in the flavor is a bit indistinct, i taste the grtains, but can’t really put a name to them, is it caramel? is it toffee? is it vanilla flavored lemons dipped in some caramel and butter sauce? yeah, i think that is the closest i can come here. i like it, i think this one might become a staple, balanced well, a relaxed enjoyable flavor and i could see this going well with a lot of the food i cook at home.
