Commercial Description:
Stout brewed with coffee from the Unseen Bean. Big Shot boasts about a shot of espresso in every pint. It pours black with a rich brown head. This World Beer Cup Silver Medal winner has wonderful roasted coffee and malt aromas. The earthy, dark chocolate flavors of the espresso blend to the flawless balance of the beer. It’s rich and strong like a good espresso, creamy and smooth like a good stout.

Black with good head. Yummy...this beer is right up my alley. Great coffee aroma and taste with some smooth chocolate sweetness. Not over the top and definitely low alcohol. Doesn’t try to be a huge beer; it succeeds in being a tasty coffee flavored stout you could drink the hell out of. News flash: If you don’t like coffee you won’t like this.

Pours a black body with a thin dark beige head. Nice espresso/latte aroma with nutty chocolate and light caramel sweetness. Flavor si a bit weaker, soem coffee, chocolate, caramel, and a thin sligtly astringent aftertaste. Easy drinking and pretty good stout.

Poured a hazy dark brown color with a thin beige head. Big coffee grind aroma with chocolate mixed in. Sweet chocolate malty flavor that sat on top of the coffee. Bitter semi-dry finish.

Looked and smelled far better than the flavor delivered. Not bad mind you, but just seemed like there was going to be a lot more THERE there. Down the checklist of roastiness to chocolate to coffee it seemed to have those and all, but none melding in beautiful and alluring ways so that my now totally depraved geekiness could swoon and tongue it devilishly. Jeez I’m getting difficult.

on tap-pours a thin tan head and black color. Aroma is coffee/secondary chocolate-dark malt. Taste is bold coffee-dark malt. Not my style.

Smells like coffee a lot. tastes almost more like coffee than beer. Crazy. I think it has more of a dry than sweet finish, but it ends uup too much like coffee for me. Better than the Lakefront Fuel Cafe Coffee beer I had recently, but just too much.

Bomber@ KSBF after party 06: Poured almost flat, leaving a light brown ring of foam. Clear, dark brown almost black colored brew. Coffee nose, roast and chocolatey notes with the coffee dominating. Body was lightly/medium, lightly coating. Choco, coffee flavors blended well, light roast was a nice backdrop, light fruitiness and a touch of smoke. Finish is lightly sweet and roasty. Thanks to whomever!?

22 oz bottle, Kennett Square Brewfest after party 2006. Pours a clear dark brown colored body with a minimal brown head that faded to nothing. Aroma is chocolaty with a light roasty note and a good bit of coffee. Some moderate hoppiness and cocoa powder. Flavor is coffee and roast dominated, moderately bitter, with a drying slightly astringent finish. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, I really like coffee beers, and this was a pretty good one. I’d like a whole bottle to myself.
