Bottle (22oz). Shared by blankboy with GregClow, jerc and tupalev. Hazy flat-looking light yellow pour, Sour light aroma of green peppers, spicy, quite earthy - okay, more like dirt than "earth." Taste - not that bad, light, stick sweet golden malt and mild fresh ripe jalapeños - not great, but not horrid. Thin and acidic mouthfeel, the pepper heat is there, just not overwhelming - it even seems to want to be sweet and a little sticky. Again, not great, but not horrible - almost like beer!

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev & jerc - courtesy of blankboy. Slightly hazy light yellow-gold. Aroma of fresh green chilies with a hint of cheese. Thin, watery body. Flavour - wow, this is a bit disappointing - I was expecting/dreading having my palate ripped by some overpowering chili heat, but it’s pretty mellow. Just a light, inoffensive beer with a bit of chili heat. A decent novelty beer for Tex-Mex restaurants, I guess, but nothing I’ll be looking for again.

Spicy bell pepper nose. Small head and light gold color. Cornmeal sweetness, with mild heat, no distinguishable bitterness. Light carbonation, thin body, but somewhat crisp--even with the heat. Actually pretty nice for a chili beer, great with Mexican food, not too overwhelming.

My bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- courtesy of Kevin. Looking at someone else’s pour and it looks...well, not good. Pours a pale murky yellow with lots of little floaties and a spare white head. Aroma: Yeah, I’m not liking this, it smells like a jalapeno cheese dip -- no resemblance to beer whatsoever. Flavour’s a bit better, it’s drinkable at least and not burning, but I still don’t like it -- basically a bland beer with some jalapeno peppers. Thin watery body. Definitely better then the Cave Creek Chili but I still would never, ever drink this again. Me no likey.

2008-06-11. Hazy pastel yellow, thin film of a white head. Green peppers up front in the aroma, spicy, a lot of jalapeño nacho cheese dip character to it. Surprisingly bland flavour to start out, hot peppers in the back grow with each reluctant sip. Thin. Novelty, did not finish, but it was a lot less bad than it could have been. 22oz bottle acquired in trade with Kevin (thanks!). Poured a lighter yellow color with a very small sized white head. Aromas of, you guessed it, peppers (lots of different kinds) and mexican food. Tastes of peppers but not as strong as the aromas. The peppers where there but not in an overly offensive way. Thin body. Hey Tom, because of that comment, I’m going through my top shelf beers tonight :)

Poured a clear golden color with no head and a minimal white head. Aroma of fresh green pepper, perhaps some corn and a bit of toffee as well. Taste was sweeter malt, a bit of corn, and a green pepper finish. Medium hot. Funny comment there Tom.

Bottle. Nose-the best nose I have ever had in chili beer-very clean chili news with the chilies taking front stage. Body-clear gold with a thick ring of bubbles. Taste-very mild as compared to the news, no heat, cardboard, tiny amount of Ancho pepper. Too much Anaheim pepper and not enough habenaro. All in all, a damn nice nose with no taste to back it up. Thin, watery, too thin in the taste as compared to the news. Overall good pepper flavor but it needs more body and it needs some heat.
