The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chili, that tears in the nose. The flavor is sweet malty with a nice medium strong chili note - not too much, but it still leaves a slight chili burn on the palate and tongue. argo0 (6995), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is medium sweet, sweet and spicy chili pepper. Taste is medium sweet, juicy chili peppers, "hot" but not overpowering. Light-medium body. A tasty fulfillment of what the label promises. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of warm roasted mixed pepper salsa that makes me hungry for some chips and salsa. Flavor is lightly sweet with corn, wheat, and light mixed chilly peppers. The finish provides a slight burn, although expected much more pepper flavor after the potent nose. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a lighter yellow color with a very small sized white head. Aromas of, you guessed it, peppers (lots of different kinds) and mexican food. Tastes of peppers but not as strong as the aromas. The peppers where there but not in an overly offensive way. Thin body. Hey Tom, because of that comment, I’m going through my top shelf beers tonight :) jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Taste is chile with heat, wheat. A bit more heat than the other two I’ve had in Colorado (Shamrock and Steamworks), interesting. OK carbonation. ¾ (5006), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Clear straw yellow colored body. Huge, instant nose of pickled jalapeno peppers, like sticking your nose into a jar… the jalapeno/pickle juice note is raw, intense and true to the character of the chiles, though there’s little in the way of wheat beer behind the peppers, aroma-wise. For flavor, it’s mostly mild up front for the first second, becoming peppery (black pepper) and tangy and prickly on the middle and back of the tongue, but never really getting hot. Comes across as acidic heart-burn at times, but again, never really gets hot. For what it is, it’s actually a pretty nice representation of the flavor of the chiles, but tends more towards pickled jalapenos rather than a more pulp/fruit flavor of the others. Biting and sharp towards the end, not terrible by any means, but ultimately simple. Ernest (4513), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is light yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with note of chile peppers / vegetables.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, moderate burning.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
It’s hard to get excited about chile beers, and this is no exception. Starts with their plain wheat beer, which doesn’t give it much behind the peppers of interest. Still, it’s better than Cave Creek.
