| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Aroma: A crisp aroma with a citrusy character, some malts in the back ground.
Appearance: It pours clear with a deep copper color with a tall white head.
Flavor: It’s classic IPA with a prominent American hop taste up front and a strong malt back bone to finish up.
Mouth feel: It has a medium body.
Overall Impression: In these days of over the top hopping, Hoppy Boy seems mild. It’s one of the milder IPA’s I’ve had, but that should not scare anyone away. As with all the Twisted Pine beers I have tried, this one hits the style guidelines. Finishing up a cooler full of Hoppy Boy would not be difficult for me to do. This is an easy to drink beer.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Pours a clear, golden color with an fairly small, white, and pillowy head which is mostly diminishing and leaves drippy lace. Nose is boring with faint citrus and grass and hints at cookie and club crackers. Flavor is mildly better; a bit of cookie and tangerine start the flavor with a moderate bitterness progressing to grassy, rustic notes and hints at the same salty cracker notes. Palate is thin, watery, lightly sticky, lively, and light to medium. Finishes bitter with salty notes, rustic notes, and light dry grass. Not much to this one; the only thing I have good to say is the bitterness is nice. GardenGabe (129), Denver, Colorado, USA

Nose has some pine and caramel. Subtle. Malts comes through like carob. Big hops. Some medical qualities to the overall taste. Chewy mouth feel which thins significantly on the finish. jbye4334 (710), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Bomber thanks to BlackforestCO. Pours a nice dark orange with a billowing, creamy beige head. Awesome nose, gettin me a little excited here, piney grapefruity goodness. Good citrus flavors, light mouthfeel, with a descent hop punch. The smell is definetly the best thing about the brew, but its definetly no slacker of an ipa. Good be a pretty nice session. Headbanger (1589), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma of hops, citrus, and grapefruit. Flavor was the same with a little dryness thrown in. This light to medium bodied brew was not bad.
