Bottle. Pours a deep, dense black with a nice, creamy deep beige head. Aroma is a thin ribbon of roasted chocolate bits, dark chocolate, and a touch of coffee ground. Flavor is a chocolate and coffee covered roasted raspberry, with a nice finish of regular coffee. Mouthfeel initially is scratchy but finishes thick and coating. A pleasant surprise from this brewer.

bottle thanks to boomer, thanks! looks and smells alright, but there is a lot of overly sweet cloying happing in the taste, with an astringent finish.

Bomber - black pour, with a thick, sticky, dark tan lacing - semi-sweet, doughy aroma, with chocolate, vanilla, some char - creamy, medium-bodied - nice balance of sweetness, roast, and touches of black malt and hop bitterness - espresso, cocoa, vanilla beans - a bit of blueberry and other subtle fruity notes - hard to tell if this is lagered or not, but it is certainly smooth (real smooth, mike! - it’s got all sorts of flavors and notes!) - alcohol warmth in the finish, and some lingering coffee-like bitterness, as well as a bit of tobacco leaf - refreshingly understated for an imperial porter.

Cask Stillage from the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 25/09/2009 Big coffee roast aroma. Beige head. Black strong in alcohol and hoppy. Smooth on the palate with a little bitterness and dryness in a roast finish.

Bomber. Pours like an imperial - viscous and black, foamy tan head. There’s a big plum note in the nose, along with chocolate, raisins, licorice. Deep chocolate/fruit presence in the flavor, along with some small coffee tones and a little bit of bitterness. Overall a malt-dominated brew, heavy and very pleasant. Drinking a bomber of this was really pleasant.

22oz bottle. Pours a deep chocolate brown with a creamy beige / tan head. Tons of cocoa and bittersweet chocolate on the nose, a hint of coffee as well. Flavor was chocolate dominate with a very viscous finish.

22oz bottle. Pours black with a moderate slow dissipating head tan head. No lacing. Tastes of roasted barley with moderately bitter hops. I prefer the fuller taste of an imperial stout, but this is good for a strong porter.
