Flaske. Rødbrun uklar i farven, lysbeige skum. Duft og smag af brun sukker, karamel, er sød og bourbonnoter. Underlig syrlig i smagen, let prikkende, let bitter.

Bottle courtesy of santa. Pours a nice reddish brown with a small off white head. Aroma is caramel, wood, malt and a touch of whiskey. Flavor is caramel, wood, a light sourness, a touch of whiskey. Fairly light bodied for a barrel aged ale but the sourness and whiskey gives it a nice tang. Different than I expected but still quite enjoyable.

Color is a deep amber with a slight haze and a very fine sediment. Carbonation is good producing a small tight head. Aroma of coffee and oak with a hint of whiskey in the back. Taste is rich and caramely. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a rich creamy feel. Finish come in sweet with caramel and vanilla then a light hop flavor and mild bitterness. After taste has a slight oak/whiskey flavor rolling across. This is a tasty brew with a full well rounded flavor.

Bottle. Pours clear mahogany with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (caramel, bread, cookie), light hops (flowers), average yeast (dough) with notes of dates, oak, vanilla, and whiskey. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

12oz. bonus bottle from the man, BlackForestCO. First off, I’m rating this beer under extreme duress, as Jake threatened to beat up my kid if I didn’t rate a beer from him tonight, so that will probably make me more critical of this poor beer than I should be. Pours a hazy ruby burgundy color with a towering fluffy off-white head, excellent lacing and retention. Aroma has some spicy wood, licorice, ripe fruits, and whiskey. The flavor follows with more oak, mild dark fruit, melon, and a bit of cola, but doesn’t keep pace with the aroma. Not bad, and glad for the chance to try, thanks Jake!

12oz bottle thanks to Mentor. Pours a cloudy, brownish red with a huge, tan head. Head was so big I had to wait and re-pour a couple times to get it in the glass. Nose was of oak and whiskey. Taste was of roasted malt, whiskey and vanilla. Mouthfeel was medium-thin with a slight hop bitterness and fairly carbonated. Not bad as a session brew.

Draft at the brewpub. A hazy dark amber beer with a thick lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of bourbon, wood, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of strong notes of bourbon and over ripe fruits. The body is thin.
