Commercial Description:
BARE TREES WEISS WINE VINTAGE 2000 is the first in our limited edition “Artist: series of champagne bottle seasonals. This Barley Wine style ale is the only one brewed to 24.5 Plato, with 57% wheat, boiled for three hours, pitched with or German Hefe-Weizen yeast, finished with a Scottish ale yeast, and then aged with oak. The resulting product is extremely complex with flavors of melon, fleshy fruits, such as peach and apricot, vanilla, caramel, oak, spicy black pepper notes, and subtle esters. These flavors come in a large part, from the raw ingredients and will vary from vintage to vintage. BARE TREES WEISS WINE VINTAGE 2000 is ready to drink now but, like fine wine, will age very well for the next several years. As it ages, the flavor complexities will continue to mature and change. So, whether you decide to enjoy a bottle upon its release or many years from now, the brewers at Two Brothers offer up a heart CHEERS!

Hazy reddish orange-copper with a patchy styrofoam head and little yeast balls at the bottom of the glass. Sweet grape, raisin, woody-cherry and hints of butterscotch in the nose. Surprisingly little alcohol aroma. Sweet and spicy malt flavour with some caramel, grape juice and some piney hops flavour. All topped off with a pinch of cinnamon and a bitter punch at the end. Full bodied with lots of CO2 and very smooth from the sweetness. The only obvious contributions of wheat in this beer is the full body and haziness. Excellent beer. Thanks

Cloudy amber color with yeast in suspension, thin white head. Aroma of caramel malt, very reminiscent of a scotch ale, maybe mild hops too, there’s a lightness in the aroma that is common with wheat beers. Very good flavor of caramel, fruits and alcohol. Light to medium body, smooth creamy texture with the lightness of wheat. Very good and original beer, definitely the best of the three Weiss Wine that were sampled.

Very sweet lightly phenolic caramelized butterscotch aroma is reminiscent of a scotch ale. Some light peppery and peaty notes. Opaque orange-tan with decent off-white head that recedes to cover with some lacing. Some yeast in suspension. Peppery spiciness and round malty flavours with balancing bitterness that seems more spicy than hoppy. Bread dough, dark fruitiness and butterscotch flavours with some hints of alcohol. Decent medium body with fluffy, smooth texture and Nice carbonation. Fair alcohol warming but never hot. Sampled as part of a three year Bare Tree vertical and this was definitely my favourite. Bottle enjoyed with asheft, beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Rastacouere and Yowie.

Bottle-conditioned. Orange body. Nice off-white head. Nice alcoholic wheat aroma, reminiscent of alesmith weizenbock in its sweetness. Peaty malt lets grassy notes shine through. It smells somehow airy, all about malt and slight yeast, very vinous at that. Very well integrated. Surprisingly the most interesting of the 3 bare trees which were part of a vertical. Has held up admiringly well. Airy mouthfeel still has plenty of carbonation to accompany the medium body. Rich minty alcohol, wheat, bready yeast and weird cork-like flavours seem to be horsing from a style to the other in perfect freedom and unity. Notes of banana, peach, plums, candy. Great creation.

Wow... i didn’t even realize they did Two Brother Bare Tree in individual years on RB.. luckily i took some notes down anyways..and hoorah another rating. This beer poured a cloudy orangey brown/yellow mix with a light soapy head which gave way relatively quickly. Luckily the sample I had was already room temperature so warming was not an issue. It definitely had some vinous grape qualities to it with malt and banana really seeping in. Perhaps a nose shot on alcohol, but it was mostly well hidden. No lacing to speak of. Flavor-wise definitely vinous and malty with a fruity banana backbone. Little to no alcohol presence. Fairly medium bodied, a slight tart bitter finish. Nicely aged and probably impossible to find now-a-days!

Orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Touches of banana and clove. A medium to full bodied Barley wine. Malts are fruity and sweet. Really like a hefe weizen (think banana and clove) Nice smooth finish, touch of oiliness. Nice smooth finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Surprised to see this one is 9.5%! Since it wasnt listed on the bottle myself and another rater were guessing around 6%.Pale gold with a loose white head. Light in body with a delicate wheat flavor. Some candy like sweetness along with a little grape skin tartness. Wrote it down as a 3.5 at the fest but now seeing how well the abv is hidden will probably bump it a couple of points.
