Commercial Description:
BARE TREES WEISS WINE VINTAGE 2000 is the first in our limited edition “Artist: series of champagne bottle seasonals. This Barley Wine style ale is the only one brewed to 24.5 Plato, with 57% wheat, boiled for three hours, pitched with or German Hefe-Weizen yeast, finished with a Scottish ale yeast, and then aged with oak. The resulting product is extremely complex with flavors of melon, fleshy fruits, such as peach and apricot, vanilla, caramel, oak, spicy black pepper notes, and subtle esters. These flavors come in a large part, from the raw ingredients and will vary from vintage to vintage. BARE TREES WEISS WINE VINTAGE 2000 is ready to drink now but, like fine wine, will age very well for the next several years. As it ages, the flavor complexities will continue to mature and change. So, whether you decide to enjoy a bottle upon its release or many years from now, the brewers at Two Brothers offer up a heart CHEERS!

orange amber color with a thin sheet of large bubbles..interesting aroma of butter, wine, grapes, and alcohol..sweet & biscuity but a little cumbersome in its sweetness..I also detect some honey and peach flavors.

This brew pours with a golden orange body topped by a thin head with some lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with a great caramel note, a nice candy sugar undertone and some alcohol esters. The flavor is slightly sweet and slightly malty with a slight caramel note, a touch of yeast and a little alcohol. Medium to full bodied, smooth and dry.

4 year old champagne bottle. Very low carbonation with no head, light brown in color. Aroma is vinous and full of wheat yeast. Wheat beer taste up front with a lasting sweetness. Slight black pepper taste is the aftertaste. Alcohol is very well hidden. Reminded me of Aventius.

Fully hazy orange-amber; slim orangeish rim. Bit oxydized nose, biscuit, aromas as from sweet (homemade) fruit wine. Very liqueurish taste, fruity and estery. Citrus-like finish, sweet and thick but not cloying. Oranges on liqueur, orange/mango chutney, dried mango meat (amchur). Very full-bodied, slick, oily mouthfeel, nearly chewy. Alcohol creeps in with a vengeance. Superb variation on - euhh, they say Barley Wine, could be Weizen Bock, could be Belgian Strong - anything. Most impressive I find that it is quite (dangerously) drinkable - until warming up. Ought to be served in a cooler as, indeed, white wine.

4-year old bottle. Orange amber in color, rather clear except for a few stray floaties. The head is very small and dissipates after a few moments. Sweet candish aroma, with many Belgianesque qualities, including ripened red plums, maple syrup, musty cardboard, honey, and slight alcohol. Mellow hop flavor is sweet and woody, with honeydew melon and honey intermixed, capped off with a small alcoholic nip. Simply delicious at room temperature.

Slightly hazed amber. Small amount of light tan bubbles circle the rim of the glass. Lightly toasted malt with raisins, honey, over ripe peaches and an alcohol foreshadow are all in the aroma. Starts with a strong wheat sweetness. Lots of flavors to sort out in this one. Vanilla, honeydew melons, slightly tart apples, and strawberries all come to mind at some point whilst I imbibe. Finish is quite malty and with a real fresh scone quality. Some alumimun floats around mid swallow, but other wise a strong solid effort. Much better than I remember the 2002. Perhap the age does this one good.

Incredibly strong. Glowing orange/gold. Lots of mild tropical fruits in here - esp. cantaloupe and apricot; also fresh baked bread. A little too sweet and syrupy, perhaps from the extra year of aging (compared to the 2001). Very stong, can hardly remember finishing it. ;)

smells like ripe cantalope (if we can't elope lettuce us marry); taste the same with nice peppery undertones yet a special sweetness.
