Commercial Description:
Bare Tress Weiss Beer is a unique Barley Wine Style Ale. It is brewed with 57% wheat, 43% barley, and German hops. We boil the 25.2 Plato wort for three hours. Then we start the fermentation with our Hefe Weizen yeast and finish it with a Scottish Ale yeast. Bare Tree is then oak aged for over one year before its release. The resulting product is extremely complex with flavors of caramel, melon, apricot, vanilla, oak, black pepper, and subtle banana. The flavors come in large part from the raw ingredients and this will vary from year to year. Bare Tree is ready to drink now, but like wine, will age in the bottle for the next several years. So, whether you decide to enjoy a bottle now or wait many years, the Two Brothers family offer a toast: “Within ever bare tree lives the promise of a new life.” CHEERS.

18th Rating from 3rd Annual Woodshop tasting in Temple City, CA. 3/1/08. One hell of a day put on by Cquiroga, thanks for a killer day Chris. Also spent the day there with bikesanbeer, my girlfriend Cyn, wetherel, JohnC, DenverLogan, dirty_martini, jasparg, DrBil, IPAFiend, awaisanen and many others, this was one crazy day. Bottle from one of cquiroga’s many boxes. Pours copper and bubbly. Sweet nose, dried fruit. Taste is sweet and sour. Not as good as the 2005 vintage if you ask me.

pours a cloudy orange color with a one finger white head. aroma is of sherry and champagne, yeast, and malt. has a light to medium body with some sediment and ok lacing. flavor is sherry, oak, a little champagne, yeast, and malt. has some bread aroma as well with some nice carbonation. very awesome from the cellar and a nice beer all together compared to others’ i have rated. by the way the 10.5 abv dont taste it, dont feel it going down, but definitely feel the head and body buzz! some caramel flavor and aroma comes out as it warms especially on the second glass and the color is dark orange as well.

Pours a hazy straw amber. Very carbonated with a thick, soft head of nearly white foam. Fantastic lacing. Honey malt, caramel malt, and citrus in the aroma. Great wheat and sweet caramel malt flavors. Now throw in oak, pepper, and vanilla. There’s a spicy bitterness in the finish like noble hops and black tea. Full body, full carbonation (an understatement). exceptionally smooth, mellow, and flavorful. The alcohol is so well hidden that I uh well man you know it just um creeps up and ahhh... A world class beer!

HWOH. Pours a medium amber with some chill haze and a thin head. herbal and phenolic aroma with sweet caramel malts and nice doughy wheat. Flavor is more wheat, medium caramel sweetness, dried fruits, some slight oxidation. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth overall, and doesnt taste too strong.
