Intriguing nose, wheaty, malty, and spicy, bit like minted butterscotch. Flavor is rich and syrupy, nice punchy apple tartness with some wood and earthiness. Beautifully masked stuff, no hint of a 10%+ beverage. Finishes very dry, hardly any aftertaste. Kind of starts like a hefe, then picks up more of a caramel/wood aspect, nice transition. Not hugely complex stuff, but very nice and very drinkable. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The aroma is bready with a slight lemony citrus and banana normally found in hefe’s. There is also some deep mushroom and earth. The taste has sweet apples, cherries, vanilla and a smooth orange. The finish is slightly dry. A nice sticky mouthfeel. My second wheat wine and I like it a lot too. Thanks a lot hey_kevin for sharing. This should answer Frank’s questions about aging wheat wines, DO IT! heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2004 Very carbonated, deep golden, with lots of floaties. Sweet syrupy aroma, some dusty hops. Very light bodied, very smooth on the tongue. Hints of hefe come and go, honeyish. Very elegant, not overy complex, but quite drinkable and doesn’t show a trace of alcohol for its 10.2% alcohol. Easily the best Two Brothers beer I’ve had. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

It’s a decent brew, but I was somewhat surprized at its presentation. In appearance, it pours a cloudy orange with a relaxed white head that quickly becomes memory. The aroma is malty and fruity... but I’m missing the wheat. The taste is, indeed, full of caramel and some of the light fruity flavors... but where is the wheat? One year in the barrel and three more in the bottle, and I’m missing all complexities usually associated with an ale of this type. Also not much of an alcohol presence in aroma or taste. It’s a good drink, but "bare tree" is a more appropriate name than 2 Bros. realizes.

Taste is more of the same, but alcoholic as well. Well made, but somewhat one diminsional. Where is the wheat? hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2004 This was great. Another beer that I had a hard time pulling my nose out of the glass. Of course wheat was in the nose, but so were some yeast notes. Mostly banana. It had a nice palate, and a nice tickle of fizz on the tounge. The same notes in the nose carried through to the taste, with a bit of alcohol in the finish. I’d really like to age a bottle of this. Also of note, as it warmed a bit, the tase really opened up. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2004 Rusty orange hue. Spicy, yeasty and inviting nose. Thickish texture with a prickly carbonation. Big notes of bread dough, soft grains and a hint of caramel and wheatiness ... kind of earthy. Nip of apple cider. Sweet-smelling aromas in the finish. Slight alcohol nip to sharpen the edge. Pretty good. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA

This one had a nice orange color. A subtle aome of wheat, toffee, banana and oak. Light in body considering its strength but the alcohol is masked very well. Notes of banana, light fruits and melting toffee.
