Poured an amber color with an off-white head that left some lacing. The aroma was of clove and banana. The flavor was sweet and had banana, clove, ginger, and light malts. Medium body. Very enjoyable. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA

A huge aroma of cinnamony spruciness. A huge amber pour with a nice lacing. A flavor of clove and light malts and fruits (bannana)? A smooth even palate that was just a tad to fizzy for my taste. An overall good beer that was easy to drink. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Frothy off-white head. Slightly hazed amber head.
Yeasty foot-like sour aroma. Tart lemons. Fruity light apricot. White wineyness. Not bad. Wet whisky cork.
Flavor is a complex assortment of belgian wheaty stuff. Light oxygenation, dry wheatiness. Oaky dry woody adjunct. It opens up well as its in the glass. Very nice.

Hazed gold; full lasting frothy/dusty off-white head.
Taste is nice; pretty complex sweet and sour sunny delight, slight sour vinous peaches, vanilla, good stuff. Quite similar to the 2002, but missing something IMO. Either way, its still pretty good. Some oaky chardonnay. MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 13, 2007 Updated: Mar 6, 2007sampled again an 03 vintage and it was almost a different beer probably worthy of 3.5-3.7 from my quick taste.. none of the disgusting sour notes I felt last time and a much better palate. I’m not re-rating until i try it again but we’ll see.
Thanks to Jason for sharing. (02 vin)
Lightly cloudy almost orangish copper color w/ a full fluffy white head and some good lacing. Odd aroma a bit yeasty and definate sour aromas some apples a funk I think feet in it and some definate alcohols. Palate is fluffy well coated but fairly avg. Odd falvor definate alcohol notes a sour apple flavor very yeasty tch of bread like a belgian fucked a BW and then spoiled. Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Pours dark amber with a very thin head. Smells of banana, apple, yeast. Some strong flavors of vanilla, caramel, peach, and banana. Pretty decent beer. Warm alcohol quality with a thin mouth feel. Bitter upfront taste with a sweeter, malty quality toward the end. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2007 2006 bottle. Pours clear dark amber with spare fizzy off-white head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, nutty), average hops (herbs), heavy yeast (dough, earth) with notes of banana, pineapple and brown sugar. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness; one of the more interesting barley wines I have had. jstraw (777), Chicago, Illinois, USA
