Commercial Description:
Bonfire Dunkle Weiss is one of a series of special limited-run beers in styles that are more extreme or unusual. This one’s a unique dark wheat beer with a delicious toasty character, just like fall. We brought the chocolate, so don’t forget the marshmallows! ""Bonfire Dunkle Weiss is a big, toasty and chocolaty version of our Ebel’s Weiss. This beer has subtle clove, banana, vanilla, and caramel notes along with a nice malt sweetness. It is perfect for those cool fall nights. We bring the chocolate you bring the marshmallows.""

bottle - Pours dark red with a huge light than head. It has a mild malt aroma with a touch of dark fruit. The flavor is sweet malt with some chocolate that comes through as it warms. The palate is bubbly and surprisingly watery. Overall it’s okay, but I can’t say I’m impressed. Drank side by side with a Michelob Dunkel Weisse and I’m disappointed to say it’s a tossup which one is better.

22oz - Doughy aroma, banana, toasted malts and a touch of spice. Pours brown with a medium head and great lacing. Flavor is toasted malts, sweet bread and ripe fruit. Palate is very creamy. Easy drinking and tasty.

Not a great dunkel, but a drinkable dark brown with a decent white head, and substantial lace down the glass. Boozy, spicey chocolate aroma. Above-average carbonation and about average mouthfeel as a tad more watery than I would expect. I taste a bunch of cloves first and foremost, and then chocolate.

Bomber. Muddy malt nose, some stale yeast air and minerals. Heavy carbonation, murky mahogany pour with some light coming through, and an unbelievably nice head (nitro-quality with very tiny bubbles, but lasts longs and jiggles more). Taste is mineral- and metal-heavy, lightly (too!) tart and acidic, malty is sticky with some woody tones but that’s about it - just an indeterminate mess, with no chocolate, toast, or significant phenols.

Bomber bonus from BBB63. thanks Mike. Pours brownish black with a 2 finger tan puffy head. Nose is sweet and rich and quite malty. Taste is sweet and very malty and very tasty and quite drinkable. Nice style wise for an American brew.

Bomber. Nearly black body with rusty brown edges. the Thick light khaki head stuck around for a while. Toast and light bubblegum were smells that mixed with some peach. There was also sour campfire character, like something burning had a tart note. The taste was like a chocolate bar melted on toast with some bubblegum added for a finish. The light roasted character helped to keep this balanced. The playful carbonation helps to get the smoke easier to tolerate in this one. While they do not call this a smoked beer I think that there is a definite smoke character.

Pours an impervious black with a loose foam rubber creamy light tan head. The nose is surprisingly nutty with minor, though detectable wheat character. Creamy with robust vanilla and lighter chocolate. Slight acidity and roast. High carbonation giving a creamy mouthfeel, but not a ton of body. Sweet malt balanced by apple-y and clove wheat esters. Really dries it out some. Alcohol is detectable, odd for this ABV. Vanilla pops, chocolate less so. Acidic. Roast. Lingering roast and wheaty esters. Almost a bit caustic. Maybe a bit of diacetyl. I feel like this would pair well with foods... but nothing leaps to mind immediately.

Rich, cloves with a dark toasty character chocolate notes. Mostly opaque showing reddish brown around the edges. Moderate foamy light tan head, leaves some lacing. Flavor is mildly tart, sweeter on the body with lingering chocolate notes. Nice, but I feel it could be more full flavored. Full mouth feel.
