Commercial Description:
Bonfire Dunkle Weiss is one of a series of special limited-run beers in styles that are more extreme or unusual. This one’s a unique dark wheat beer with a delicious toasty character, just like fall. We brought the chocolate, so don’t forget the marshmallows! ""Bonfire Dunkle Weiss is a big, toasty and chocolaty version of our Ebel’s Weiss. This beer has subtle clove, banana, vanilla, and caramel notes along with a nice malt sweetness. It is perfect for those cool fall nights. We bring the chocolate you bring the marshmallows.""

Bomber. Poured a rich shade of darker amber with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up dry-roasted chocolates and nutty notes over tangy wheat and grassy notes.. touches of vanilla and brown sugar surrounded.. very nice! The flavor had a little more character from the wheat with fresh toasted, lightly sour notes throughout.. dry-roasted chocolate and caramel played well in there.. finished with tangy wheat, chocolate and vanilla. Medium-bodied with ideal carbonation to move it across the palate.. dries out on the back-end and especially through the finish.. very well done.

pours dark brown with a thick foamy head. Aroma is fruity, slightly nutty, some wheaty banana as well. Flavour wheaty malt, clove and banana are there behind a light roast malt. a little light in the body. Finished clean.

On tap, Bulldog Lowertown, St. Paul MN. Deep brown pour, very minimal head. I ordered this beer without knowing the style, after drinking it I had assumed it was a Bock! Whoops. Flavor is sweet tangy roasted nutty malts. Also notes of brown sugar, mild spice, just a touch of German hops. Finish is slightly dry and astringent. Well rounded good beer.

Tap @ Barcade. Poured a brown color with a small beige head. Very mild smoke with phenolics that bordered between pepper and plastic. The flavor was a mix of fruit and smoke. Light-medium body.

Draft. Pours a murky brown body with a tan head. Wheat and spices, light chocolate, vanilla, smoke, burnt malt, light chewy body with some fruity esters banana, bubblegum and cherry. Eh not something i was crazy about.

Bottle: Deep mahogany hue with a fluffy tan head and spotty lacing. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and bready vapours with a pear, banana, bubblegum phenolic esters. The taste starts fruity and chewy with lots of roasty malt and powerful yeast character. Woody and dry finish with a hint of smoke, chocolate, and allspice. Soft yet carbonated mouth feel which works with the flavor profile. Very well done brew and Mikey Likey for sure.

Bomber. Pours a really dark chestnut brown color with a slightly translucent, violet colored edge. A small, foamy, beige colored head settles qickly to a soapy film, leaving minimal, wet flares of lacing behind. The aroma features burnt caramel, toasted wheat, dark fruits, and hints of banana phenols. I detected a faint smokiness as well, which lends a nice edge to the sweet malt. Flavors have less going on, notes of dark caramel and watered down dark fruits seeming more muddled than anything else. There’s a light tartness to the finish. Relatively light in body, with active carbonation, the mouthfeel leaves a bit to be desired. Decent for the style, but mostly unimpressive.
