Had this beer on 9/15/1999. Color is almost purple. Taste is way dark. Rich body that goes down with a strong roasted malt flavor. Finish is this roasted flavor backed by a mild bitterness. Overall its good, but a bit strong.

Courtesy of OhioDad. The aroma is a toasty coffee/chocolate/caramel mix with a touch of dry cocoa powder-like notes. The body is a dark ruddy brown and holds a rapidly diminishing, wispy tan head. Lots of sweet caramel, choclate and coffe with some peanut skin notes and a dry, but lingering malty sweetness in the finish. Very intense flavor concentration. It really packs the tastebuds with gobs of flavor...primarily the coffee notes, but some sweet dark fruit, chocolate, nuts, cocoa and caramel are there as well. This is very tasty and has a damn nice mouthfeel. I haven’t had enough Milds to know if it is a good Mild, but it’s a damn tasty brown ale/light porter and I think most everyone in this thread is insane to rate it so low. This beer tastes great.

Bottle. Poured dark brown with an average fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate complex roasted sweet malty aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet roasted flavor with a medium dark chocolate finish of moderate duration.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with OhioDad (thanks). Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of burnt and roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, light caramel, and roasted malts. Thinner body.

Pours a nice reddish brown. Low carbonation and lite alcohol give this beer a very smooth - almost creamy feel. Smokey burnt malt, lite coffee notes, carmel, and honey. very thin body.

12 oz bottle - first off i will say this one is under rated. Nice pour brown with a short offfwhite head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, molasses, and roasted nuts. Flavor is caramel, smoke, chocolate, molasses, and light nuts. Medium body but smooth and quite drinkable. A good mild to try..
