Clear, coppery-orange colored body, with only a light brown color in the center. Graham crackers and a dry whole wheat toastiness give open the aroma with a crunchy, dry, toasty note, allowing a light honey and mild chocolate note to slowly creep in and soften things. Dry, lightly burnt wood notes (very faint) keep things piquant. Medium strength. Milky chocolate, with light peanut brittle immediately balancing. Light touches of buttercream, light, watery coffee add complexity with a hint of diacetyl that is very welcoming and soothing. Probably the most successful part of this low gravity session beer is the very low carbonation allowing the malts to adequately soothe the palate, remaining creamy enough to allow plenty of flavor to set in. No hops, no alcohol. Earthy, dry, roasted malt notes prevent it from ever getting too sweet. Very balanced, very drinkable. Successful on many levels. Just a bit watery, otherwise. iowaherkeye (1890), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 12, 2006 12oz. bottle, best by 8/7/06. Pours a pretty deep brown with a small, fading tan head. Smells like a brown--nutty and bready malts up front, and a little bit of earthiness. A little nutty in the taste, along with some weird sourness which doesn’t fit in well at all--also a little bit of chalkiness at the end. Not my favorite from these guys. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 13, 2006 A small, tan head fades fast over an attractive mahogany/brown body with some density. Aroma of Fuggles with pepper & rye, earthy caramel and a splash of vinegar. Extremely sour to start, Flemish sour if I may. Wow. This mellows to bitters like the English session ale it strives to portray. Dry and chalky to finish. Not terribly bad, but I can’t reccommend it either.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 25, 2005 Mild drinkable, if unremarkable, ale, with sweet malt notes: caramel and toffee and a mildly bitter hop finish. I could drink a few of these if that’s my best choice. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2005 Deep brown pour is almost stout like. The nose is nice and earthy, showcasing the multitude of nutty malt. Somewhat thin body is quite drinkable, noting wet earth, nut, toffee and some diacetyl. Spicy English (Fuggle?) hops turn quite tart and sour near the finish, a slight distraction for such a smooth brew. A great session brew indeed never the less. delmecum (87), Western Illinois, Illinois, USA

Light bodied and light carbonation.Yeasty, earthy smell. Has a sour grain taste followed by sweet light caramels.Finishes with a bitter yeasty aftertaste. I’d try this again on tap but two bottles was plenty.
