Damn, milds get no love around here. Russet brown colour; full nutty, malty aroma; good body, tastes like it smells (nice malt profile). Very drinkable, nicely done.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with OhioDad (thanks). Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of burnt and roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, light caramel, and roasted malts. Thinner body.

Sweet nutty roasted malt aroma. Medium brown with a thin cream-colored head. Fairly complex and well-rounded, this beer balances a good variety of malts with light bitterness and even some sour notes. The smooth body finishes a roasted sweet and sour. More brewers need to make good session ales.

Pours a clear, nutty brown with a short tan head that soon transforms into a halo. It has a mildly sweet malt aroma with a whiff of herbal bitterness. Medium to light bodied, it has a grainy, sweet malt taste, very mild. A touch of the hops make themselves known in the finish.

Ruby/brown color with a smaller light tan head. Aroma of a brown porter, with nuts and mild coffee to the forefront. Mild almonds, light bitter chocolate, and toasted buscuits. Touch of malt acidity in the finish to clean things up. Not a bad session.

Bottle. Poured dark brown with an average fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate complex roasted sweet malty aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet roasted flavor with a medium dark chocolate finish of moderate duration.

I’m way above the curve here....I think this is the first time I’ve disagreed with BBB63 on a brew. I suspect that drain pour must have been adulterated, Mike. I’ll send another in our next trade. This one poured a great ruby color with a big, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, heavy nuts. I pegged this as a nut brown ale or a Belgian brown ale, not a mild (and mild is a valid...and delicious style....try Three Floyd’s Pride and Joy...but this is not a mild). The taste was malty, with some hops, dark fruit, more nuts than a San Francisco orgy, and a slight rauchy, roasty finish. I liked the complexity with this, and I’m going to have another bottle this evening to verify my rating.

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown. Body is medium brown. Aroma is lightly malty (nuts, toasted bread, caramel), lightly hoppy (orange). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Sourness leads the flavor profile, and has that infected tang to it. Not enjoyable.
