I was doing a tasting of some of my own beers earlier tonight and decided to finish with. This is so much better. Hophead22 (1090), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

Light malty aroma. Nice hop presence, slightly sweet, but not too much. Very nice. badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear dark ruby, small head. Strong hoppy black currant aroma with notes of rubbery smoke. Dry and clean with a slimmer body than expected. The resiny, almost inky bitterness sets in early. Together with saccharine sweetness it gets almost assaulting by the finish. The hop aromas are restrained in comparison with the extreme bitterness. Interesting, but off balance. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2008 The aroma is nice, fairly sweet with citrusy hop aromas. The Beer looks just about as good as it could, it pours a cloudy copper color with about the biggest fluffiest head I’ve ever seen that sticks around and leaves a beautiful lace. The beer has a fantastic flavor with a great big hop bitterness with plenty of grapefruit like bitterness, without sacrificing a little nuttiness and some fruitiness. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Updated: Dec 10, 2008Cask at BTAH, NYC. Pours clear dark red with almost no head, just a rim of slightly off-white. Aroma is spicy rye and resiny pine hops, a bit sweet and full. Taste matches the nose - full, spicy rye couples with the resiny, piny hops and a hint of fruity sweetness to create a fantastic beer. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with very light carbonation, does an outstanding job of bringing out the beer’s flavor. Fantastic beer. CharlesDarwin (1844), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2008 12oz Bottle. Hoppy spiced nose. Fruity. Tropical. Good mix of hop sugars and rye fruit/spice. Pours red/brown, clearish, rim in white. Flavor develops some estery fruitiness, shallow bitterness and a thin body. Inviting at first, but then disappointing. Rye spice clashes with dry, metallic hoppy bitterness. Not heinous, but shallow. EricE (460), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2008 Red-brown pour with a thick fluffy tan head. Intense hoppy aroma with lots of chocolate, citrus and grapefruit. Very sweet smelling. Very sweet to start but quickly overpowered by bitterness. Not as hoppy as the aroma, and much of the fruitiness on the nose is not there in the flavor. Much of more of a piny hop flavor, with a touch of citrus. Bitter grainy finish with some malt. Not bad.
