Commercial Description:
Cane and Ebel is one of a series of special limited-run beers in styles that are more extreme or unusual. This unique red rye beer is full of hop flavor and aroma. We add 35 pounds of Thai palm sugar to each batch. The sugar does not add much sweetness to the beer, but rather a fruity and vanilla-like flavor. A new hop variety called Summit is really showcased here. This 18%AA hop is also very aromatic which gives a pungent citrus aroma. Then we heavily dry hopped the beer with Simcoe.

Draught at TDR Ex: Aroma of Summit hops and rye. Poured dark amber in color with a small, off-white head. Very good lacing. Flavor of summit hops and sugar. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hoppy finish.

Bottle. Pours an amber beer with a creamy top 2 fingers high. Aroma is sweet sugar and malt. Has a nice vanilla character, with a dry cherry acidic aroma. Some pine, hops, and light fruit. Ends with a bitter simcoe hops. Good.

this is an interesting beer for sure. As a rule, I generally serve most of my beer a bit too cold (fridge temp). Well, this one needs to be a bit warmer than that so the first few sips weren’t too good, but a bit warmer it was quite nice. The color was a deep ruby...very pleasing to the eye. taste was actually quite balanced for the super hoppy claim. You certainly taste the spicy rye presence. again, this beer is quite interesting worthy of trying again. well done.

12oz bottle, yup well they guessed correctly when they brewed it, its a rye beer with some hops, not all that different from any other Rye Pale Ale.. nice to drink due to use of my favorite hop, Simcoe.

Pours a clear amber brown with close to no head. Aroma is caramel and floral. Flavor is a light mineral pine hops flavor with notes of sweet caramel and floral. A bit of spice in the flavor. Pretty decent red eye definite palm sugar flavors.

Orange color, small head. Flavor is surprisingly good. Mildly sweet, lots of fresh floral notes. Good balance of citrus hops and rye to dry everything out. Has a nice smoothness to it. Well balanced. Medium bodied. Warming peppery finish. Nice beer! One of the better Two Bros offerings.

Deep amber, almost brown color. Nice nose of rye, and hops. Decent flavor, but won’t blow you away. Easy finish, not my fave, but real solid red rye.
