Clear brown amber with a good white head and nice lacing. Smell is sweet malt with a nice big hoppy backbone. Flavor is decent - a hint too watery and not enough flavor for me - but it was quite drinkable. A fruity note becomes present as it warms - which is nice. Mouthfeel is average - not too terribly thin.

Brilliant reddish amber, beautiful creamy tan head.
Sweet malty aroma with biscuits and toast, some hoppiness.
Strong bitterness, some malt sweetness and graininess. Strong hop flavor: floral and spicy.
Strong, slight creamy palate.

Apr 26, 2008 Bottle. Solid and decently balanced ASA. Rye is definitely apparent. Reminiscent of red rocket ale, with maybe a little less hoppiness. Not too shabby.

oh and by the way thanks so much for sending me this beer drewbeerme....
great nose of ryeish malts...and great balance of hops....then finishes with a combo of resonous hops...and rye character....good stuff

Apr 6, 2008 Pours a reddish-copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet malts, and a bit of citrus. Taste is quite bitter, citrus hops, some rye, and a bit of nutty malts. Quite enjoyable and sessionable.

Apr 6, 2008 Updated: Sep 12, 2008Bottle: Dark copper colored pour with no head. Sweet caramel and mild notes of rye malt in the nose with notes of earthy, piney hops. Somewhat thin in body. Big harvest-like flavor with the resin hop notes accentuating it throughout. Dry, caramel malt presence with an herbal/anise backdrop to finish it off. Re-rate: Draft at the local pub...pretty much everything previously noted is identical except that their is much more depth and the body is much fuller. Much, much better on draft. Rating reflects tap version.

Apr 5, 2008 Pours a dark amber color with thick white foamy head that fades quickly leaving a good amount of lacing. Aroma is pungent citrus hops, rye, and malt. Taste is earthy resinous hops, light fruit, rye, and malt. Finish is slight dry and bitter. Overall a good brew.
