Rye and hops meld to create a gorgeous and appetizing aroma. Spicy and citrsuy.
Huge spicy and tangy rye malt flavors backed up by the classic zing of a red ale are balanced out by the nice smoothness achieved by the addition of thai palm sugar.
Very smooth on the palate, great carbonation, creamy and full. Bockyhorsey (2528), Mesa, Arizona, USA

The only aroma I got or could come up with for this one was odd. Not offensive and yet nothing stood out but was 9th beer sample of the day. Amber body with decent head. Sweet stong ale flavor. This has ro be one of the stangest brews I’ve had couldn’t figure out aromas and flavors but was a good smooth enjoyable brew. Odd. beachbum25 (786), Powellville, Maryland, USA

Had some hop bite to it, a little too much I’d say. Had a little malt, some sweetness & some pine/spruce touches. Beer seemed a little confused to me, had too many things going on & no one of them stood out, except that it was too hoppy w/no balance to the finish. It was OK, that’s about all I can say about it. 17thfloor (1481), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Dark mahagony pour with few bubbles and a small creamy tan head. Very sweet base, not malty, just sweet. A good amount of hop bite. Some robust rye. Very sticky finish, sticky body with light fizzy carbonation. Nice beer, but room for definite improvement. kmweaver (2463), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a murky, red copper color; light tan head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Pleasant amounts of rye, fruit, and earthy / piney hops in the aroma; not much stickiness; nicely dryhopped. Medium-to-full mouthfeel, showing rye, caramelized sugar, and plenty of earth and pine again; zesty, spicy hoppiness; very well-balanced in the mouth, with a perfect amount of carbonation and a bit of spritzy citrus at the perimeter of the tongue; well-done, unique beer. Medium finish, ending with rye, sugar, and some earthy hop bitterness. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Unique aroma: Toasted vanilla bean, cinnamon, rye spiciness, apricot, tangerine and some earthy wood. Pours a firey clear copper with a firm, thick off-white head leaving decent lacing. Tastes almost like a beer dreamsicle: orange and tangerine zest with toasted vanilla. Well... not quite but you get my drift. Woodsy pine resin, rye spice as well. Medium to full bodied. Quite creamy. Nice! franksnbeans (265), Columbus, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Presented to me clear amber with orange hue and a cream head that laces heavily. Nose is bread, spicy rye malt and a little hops. Tastes nice and hoppy with a big malty balance and the rye shows up at the bitter end. Medium in the mouth and very drinkable. Overall a delightful rye IPA that is worth trying.

Strange aroma, herbal, then hops and some grapefruit. Surprising flavor, not thick body, but very good malt and caramel, and explosive hopping, resiny, but different from other beers. Both aroma and flavor enjoy a very resiny hopping. Excellent.
