Huge complex aroma and taste that inspire verbal confirmations on how good it is with each sip.
Run out and get it if you like big IPAs. Must try. sbrewno (49), Frankfort, Illinois, USA

Bit-o-Honey meets a Clark bar. Awesome if you like Rye. Seems like some Amarillo, maybe. Tomahawk? Someone please tell the Ebel brothers to follow through on their thoughts and make this one year-round and available in sixers, please. Awesome.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 9, 2007 Had this on tap at Barley’s The Smokehouse. Beautiful nose of grapefruit, lemon & lime. This brew is a dark ruby copper. The off-white super creamy head is mostly lasting and leaves behind a light curtain of lace. The flavor is mostly bitter with the trademark snappy rye sourness, very nice. The full body is soft & dry. This is a really good beer, and grossly underrated IMHO. I guess on tap must be the way to go. jayhopkins23 (27), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Mar 17, 2008 This happens to be one of my favorite beers. The pour produces a very pronounced tan head, and can be best enjoyed in a snifter to profile the aroma. At first, you’d expect a heavy and creamy beer based on the color, however its taste and mouthfeel are perfect, crisp but not light and malty, but not too much alcohol. The hops are perfectly in proprtion to the malt. A great beer! Rye and hops meld to create a gorgeous and appetizing aroma. Spicy and citrsuy.
Huge spicy and tangy rye malt flavors backed up by the classic zing of a red ale are balanced out by the nice smoothness achieved by the addition of thai palm sugar.
Very smooth on the palate, great carbonation, creamy and full.
