Lager look with some scum on top for a haed. Has a rather cheap lager roughness about it initially on the taste buds. Comparable to some cheap ice or high gravity beers. A little rude on the finish. Can get the same experience from many other cheaper higher alky pale lagers.

Bottle. Frothy white head that disappears. Medium golden body, fairly clear. The aroma is grainy with notes of toasted bread. Hints of herbs and grass. Faint hint of vegetables. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter with an aftertaste of husky grain. Medium body with a water texture. Plenty of carbonation. The grainy taste and hint of vegetables make me think this is a souped up MGD. The aftertaste is very similar.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a minuscule white head that quickly becomes less than a film of tiny bubbles. Faint aroma is sweet caramel malt and grain, with an even fainter floral hop character. The flavor is crisp and grainy, a little too sweet for itself. Light carbonation has a little bit of bite to it, and leaves a sweet coating in the mouth.

Had at For the Love of the Hops! 2009 festival. Pours from tap a clear golden color with a modest white head to cap it. Aroma is light noble hops floral, a light crisp sweet pils malt profile and a light lemon touch. Flavor is very grainy, some light amount of caramel comes through but mostly a light lemon with a crisp lager ending. Overall a great helles and one that I think I will have to pick up sometime.

Bottle: Pours a clear golden with virtually no head. Has an earthy aroma with hints of caramel. Flavor is sweet with a sticky texture and a mild bitterness in the finish. Not a bad lager and is actually refreshing on a hot lawn mower day.

A nice golden beer with a thin white head. In aroma, a light fruity aroma with light caramel malt. In mouth, a sweetish malt with light fuesel alcohol, a bit oily. Medium bodied, a bit cloying. On tap at Jerry’s, Chicago, May 16 2009.

Draft at Binny’s south Loop. Not sure I get the tepid reviews on this one... Pours a golden yellow with a nice white head. Nose of biscuits and grain, minimal hop character. Very clean and biscuity taste, breadlike and very much a Dort. It’s funny, everytime I have a new Dort I have to smile because they are great, refreshing and balanced beers. Fantastic.

wet and watery mouthfeel. still, rewards with refreshment. a bit floral but half dead. appearance is standard: yellow as the sun in a childrens drawing...still maintains a bit of wet cardboard aroma, not much to offer to the ale drinker.
