Commercial Description:
Brewed in the style of Dortmund, Germany, this golden lager has a delicate caramel malt character, balanced by a light body and mild German noble hops, creating a crisp, refreshing finish.

Pours a golden yellow. The nose has strong caramel notes. The flavor is rather weak in caramel. The finish is like a lot of domestics... not very good.

Pours an bright golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is lightly sweet grainy malts, corn and noble hops. Flavor is malty sweetness initially then more bready with a crisp bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, creamy texture.

Honey colored body with a fomay white head. Semi-sweet aroma with caramel, malt, and a little grass. Smooth, oily mouthfeel. Some malty sweetness at first phases into grassy and citrus hoppiness. A slight bitter, alcohol aftertaste. Not a bad brew.

Pours a misty orange with a finger or so of white head. Light, but sort of sticky sweet odor. Watery mouthfeel- as far as Dortmunders go, its sort of a disappointment.

Pours a bright, clear golden colour with a large frothy head. Aroma is slightly malty, grassy with notes of clove, lemon and pear. Taste is awesome, refreshing- very clean mouthfeel. Finishes with a soft crisp hop flavor. Not being a big Dort fan myself, this was perfect for a hot summer day.

A pale dirty blonde. Aroma of cold cornmeal, distant rubbery phenols, mint leaves, fluoride. A surprising burst of tangerine late, and bright, following with cotton candy, pixie stick sugar and perfume. The transition of basic and off to sugary and bright is quick with slightest bit of warmth.

Crisp white bread and rice cereal flavor with pixie stick sugar. Not quite cloying, just thoroughly sweet, and given the thinness of the style, this is a characteristic that simply can’t pan out positively; there isn’t much herbal coloring or bitterness of any kind to dry it out, but still, its flavor is softly sweet, never metallic or vegetal, and so it remains perfectly tolerable. There is, however, a fresh, sweet kind of grassiness, that spells that character with a reasonable adequacy. But the pixie stick sugars, with an odd nectarine and citrus like tanginess, are so persistent and patently false-tasting that the malts always seem spread thin. It turns out to be quite refreshing, just not in the way that might be expected; it seems more sweet brisk lemonade than dry herbal lager.

Light-medium palate is very lightly syrupy with a prickly texture. Finishes firmly on honey, white bread, and dusty pilsener malts. It doesn’t shed any new light on the style or even cling to the archetype too readily, but it’s a quaffable, refreshing lager in its own, somewhat weird, right.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Bland, sweet flavor, watery but easy drinking, vegetal. Highlights nothing that defines the style. Aroma is vegetal and dull. Astringent finish. A dud.

Bottle, thanks to akevitt for sharing. Pours a clear, pale yellow body with white head. Fairly strong aroma of malts and bread. Flavor is the same as aroma along with a slight floral hop bitterness throughout the palate. Crisp bitter finish.
