bottle from xnoxhatex: pours with a gigantic white foamy head above a cloudy hay coloured body. aromas of wheat, toasted malts, touches of citrus. flavour is toasty malt some wheat and yeast.finishes a little bitter and dry a balanced tasting beer but nothing overly special.

bonus beer from xnoxhatex. (thanks, Devon!) Pours a hazy gold orange. Full foamy head. Nose is a bit bitter with some citrus accent. Flavor is the same, with a sweet tang to it in the finish. Not bad.

Chill hazed amber body with a small white head. Spicy hop and fruity apple aroma. Light medium body supports a well balanced flavor profile. Spicy hops compliment a subdued malt backbone of caramel apples. A simple but tasty and well crafted lager.

Appearance: Pours a light golden body with a foamy, white head. Smell: Soft aroma with only a light maltiness, a bit of butter, and an eggy sulphur trait. Taste: Weak malt flavor and sweetness. Light floral hops. Faint hint of salted butter. Lightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Fizzy carbonation. Watery texture. Drinkability: Needlessly bland. C’mon, even the humble Dortmunder Lager can shine and sparkle if you allow it to.

First offering from a seasonal mixer. I enjoyed these after a great day at the Cleveland Zoo. Nice and refreshing it was a good choice to quench my well deserved thirst. Aroma is mildly malty with a hint of fresh apples, overall it’s delicate and faint. Crystal clear golden bronze pour with a thick bright head and generous lacing. Light bodied with a crisp and clean finish. Fruity mild apple flavor (like the aroma), good neutral malt content and some very faint hops. Overall a solid quencher, basic and mild.

12oz bottle, best before 11/20/07. thanks to xnoxhatex for giving this to me. pours an odd color slightly hazy dull copper-orangish-amber with white head. nose is actually offensive, this awful b.o., lots of ginger, and grainy smell. the ginger is really strong and gross. flavor follows the nose right up, strong ginger with spoilded wet grains. i don’t know but this is one of the worst beers i’ve had on a long time. it doesn’t taste infected just awful. sorry 2bros, i’m want to like you but you’re making it so hard.

12oz bottle from Binny’s on Clark in Chicago. I didn’t really know the style all that well before and I had duveneck and dog days in the fridge, so this is my impromptu "Better know what Dortmunder is as a style" side by side. Hazy orange with small white creamy head. Aroma is BIG orange almost as if this beer had a fresh orange in it, grainy, very sweet but overall just so fruity. Flavor is a lot of fresh orange that is most likely hops i’ve figured out, almost IPA like in that way that is also malty sweet, grainy, slight pine very nice. Creamy med body. Interesting, very sweet, nice but I don’t know if it is in style, though I obviously don’t know the style. Though if a lage tastes slightly like an IPA, I have a feeling that it isn’t.
