Very lightly bittered. Faintest hint of belgium yeast like influence to it, but not much. Kind of drying in the finish, but still sweet flavored. Decent but unremarkable compared to some of their other beers, I thought. pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle into Snifter. Pours a wonderful rich copper with a redness. A deep tan head of about 1.5 fingers leaves some fanciful lacing behind ans the beer is consumed. Aroma is malty, sweet fruit with touches of the caramel that others note. Flavor follows the lead of the nose, much to it’s benefit. The sweetness is offset by a undercurrent of hops that all balance at the end. Assorted other flavors appear and disappear throughout, too, although I didn’t bother to identify all of them. Nevertheless, it worked for me. I found this a very drinkable brew that sat well in the mouth and stomach after all was said and done. I look forward to enjoying this periodically and will probably get it on tap next time I’m at the Two Bros. Tap House. Almost certainly not the best beer I’ve ever had, but a very enjoyable and veratile beer, to be sure. unclemattie (2413), Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2008 12oz from drewbeerme - thanks, Andrew! Full bodied amber beer, with lively carbonation and head. I was expecting something a bit more classic, so was a tad surprised by the caramely nose. Very full and creamy, a real quaffer, with some dry and peppery notes in the finish to balance it out. Not bad. naivepegasus (183), USA

Slight caramel taste that goes into a smoky aftertaste with a hint of burnt toast. My first Biere de Garde- not bad. TeamTrappist (389), jericho, New York, USA
