Commercial Description:
This French-style country ale is deep amber in color. With a toasty, sweet caramel start, it finishes with just enough hops to clean off the palate. Bon Appetit!

12 oz bottle.Poured orange-red, with no head. Light carbonation with hints of spices and caramel, with a slightly hoppy finish. I think county ales are not my thing, but this one seems to be made with decent quality.

The shining light in a box full of crud courtesy of beastiefan. Went well with my chicken and lentil dish. Pours a cloudy orange color with a funky and slight molasses aroma. Flavor is slightly sour and full bodied. Medium on the finish with some citrus fruit flavors. Some faint lemon. Decent drinkability but not an incredibly unique or memorable experience.

thanks zeswaft (tongue in cheek). pour is surprisingly dark and opaque. the color is defined by the following: hue 10, saturation 180, luminosity 95, red 176, green 64 and blue 26. i’m not one for metaphor. ok back to making up stuff. smells like cloying sweet malt and artificial honey, some distant rotten fruit, maybe almonds. not horrible. taste is of water at first, then quickly of honkers ale, then quickly disappearing. water throughout. to be fair i had an ’08 bigfoot before this. and i like honkers. well, i guess taste and smell aren’t as scientific as color. and therefore not as reliable, useful, or meaningful, no matter what my hippie friend cmubeerman will tell you. ha, i ended up rating it .1 more than both of them. they’re such lowballers. ok, i guess i’ll actually set about drinking this thing.

bottle thanks to xnoxhatex. pours a nice clear amber color thininish off white to tan head, lacing is sparse. Aroma is roasty, slightly metallic, somewhat funky bathroom. taste is caramally up front, roasty and bread crusty in the middle, slightly tart toward the end. Finishes bready and roasty with slight herbal bitterness. Body is medium with some mild sparkly carbonation.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep orange red color, slightly hazy. Thin, crisp, white head that fades quick but leaves some lace and head around the edges. Smells faintly of very earthy hops and sweet malts. Tastes of caramelly, earthy hops and sweet, light sugary malts. Medium body, semi-vibrant carbonation.

Opaque dark amber with little head. Earthy sweet toasted cracker aroma. Surprisingly tart and a bit on the watery side. Has the earthiness in the flavor with some astringency. Doesn’t come together too well.
