Commercial Description:
This French-style country ale is deep amber in color. With a toasty, sweet caramel start, it finishes with just enough hops to clean off the palate. Bon Appetit!

Bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Lightly hazed orange-amber with a small fleeting off-white head. Smells of caramel and earth. The flavor is nutty with some caramel and grass. Tart and bitter come together for the finish. Strange but I kind of like it.

33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA via Minneapolis. Drank one in the hotel, it was decent. Got home, poured it and drank it over a half hour period and it was amazing. The aroma deepened with each sip. caramel, grain and faint hops initially, opening up to deep earthy character. It continued to evolve as the glass was emptying. This was an exceptional beer, deserves a higher rating based on the aroma alone.

Pours an old copper color with a 1 finger creamy light beige head that has great retention retention. Aroma is dark caramel, biscuit, dry grain, lots of earthy and spice notes that blend pretty well, light floral hops back it up. Hints of dark fruit and toffee open up as it warms. Flavor is dark caramel, cereal grain, dark toasted, sweet granola, fig, date, light vegetal notes, bread crust, herbal and floral hops. FInishes herbal and toasted grain with a light granola fade, and a light medicinal aftertaste, not too noticeable to me, but there. Palate is on the light side of medium bodied with a slightly syrupy feel and nice, spritzy effervescence. This stuff could have been really good but there are a couple off notes that hold it back for me.

A pretty solid beer from a brewer that has some better ones out there, though. Worth a try.

Tremendously hazy; medium carrot orange. Radiant. Nice finger of flat head. The haze is great. Some biscuity malt. A little farmhouse spice. Mild flowery, perfumey hops. Very fragrant. Sweet caramel initially, very mild and very nice. Second hit of a Belgian, champagne-like spice. As it warms, that toasted caramel comes back. Really great how it evolves. Bubbly, fizzy, effervescent. Appropriate for style. Thick as well. Two thirds caramel, one third champagne. Impressive as hell.

Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed ruby with a medium to large beige head. Wheat, hay, light grain. Malty, lots of caramel, with some plums and pear. Light bitter finish.

On tap at Hop Leaf. Poured a reddish amber with a brown head. Aroma was yeasty with notes of cherry and raspberry. Flavor began sweet, a bit on the sugary side, then fruit notes of cherry and raspberry finished the beer.
