This was a tasty beer but I probably wont go out and buy more of it. Had kind of a sour taste and seemed a little flat for the style of beer.my bottle was best by 8/2/07. I dont want to be harsh , I wouldnt turn one down!

Needed a maibock-like fix with spring approaching, but since Sam’s didn’t have any Dead Guy Ale on the shelf I tried this instead given that it’s local. Orange hue, small head dissipated quickly. Very little carbonation. Heavy malt flavor up-front with some balancing hops at the end, but pretty sweet overall. I liked this, but I was also in the mood for something maltier anyways today, so if you want a drier or hoppier beer this may not be your first choice.

Poured a caramel hue with a small white head. A nice yeasty aroma with some caramel notes. Flavor was well balanced with subtle fruit and earth notes that ended with a nice caramelly sweetness. Mild hops were present in the finish, which positivly reduced the caramel sweetness.

Definitely not my style of beer. Left a bad aftertaste, almost painful. i can’t spit fast enough.

Bottle from Rob’s beer of the month ripoff thingamajigga. Beer pours reddish orange with a little head. Boring aroma of flavor. Soapy and metalic at times. Biere de Garde’s are hit or miss for me, and this was is definitely watery and seriously lacking any sort of flavor committment. Weak.

Bottle. Clearly a dissenting opinion, but not a bad beer. Amber in color with minimal head (against the description of the style). Didn’t detect much of the "toasty, caramel start" -- finished like a typical American pale with decreased bitter pungency. Best part of this beer is the nice label.

Slight fruitiness, with roasted malt and distinct hops and noticiable alcohol flavor. Not bad.

The beer pours a golden brown color with almost no head that vanishes quickly. Gazing through the beer it is one of the clearest beers I have ever seen that has this deep a color. The beer has a nice malty smell to it. It is a mixture bread and other grains. This beer has a medium sweet taste with hints or barley and hops. The beer is very smooth and fills up the mouth well. Overall this is a very enjoyable beer.
