Some biscuity malt. A little farmhouse spice. Mild flowery, perfumey hops. Very fragrant.
Sweet caramel initially, very mild and very nice. Second hit of a Belgian, champagne-like spice. As it warms, that toasted caramel comes back. Really great how it evolves.
Bubbly, fizzy, effervescent. Appropriate for style. Thick as well. Two thirds caramel, one third champagne. Impressive as hell. j12601 (1357), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed ruby with a medium to large beige head. Wheat, hay, light grain. Malty, lots of caramel, with some plums and pear. Light bitter finish.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2009 On tap at Hop Leaf. Poured a reddish amber with a brown head. Aroma was yeasty with notes of cherry and raspberry. Flavor began sweet, a bit on the sugary side, then fruit notes of cherry and raspberry finished the beer. fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2009 Tap at BT. Aroma of berries and sweet malt. Flavor has an element of bitterness and the berries but is predominantly sweet caramel malt. Not bad, though by the end it’s a lot of sweet malt and residual sugars. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2009 Tap at Barcade. Pours reddish copper with a tan ring. Not much of a nose. Taste was sweet, very very sweet, drinkable but a weird as hell biere de garde. JFGrind (1360), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Definitely a different spin on the Biere de Garde style, caramel, sour, and earthiness and light on the bitterness as described. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Pours a dark copper color with a medium sized canvas head. Nose rich smokey chocolate and dark carmelized sweet potatoes. Medium thick mouthfeel and sort of creamy finish. Taste Is the same are the nose with less of a vegetable component. I like it. zapprentice (312), East Setauket, New York, USA
