| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2006 bottle - Pours amber with a thin head. There’s an assertive malty aroma. The flavor is primarily the caramel malts in the nose with a mildly bitter finish as the commerical description says. The body is just about right in my opinion. I could see this being a good session beer. jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2006 Bottle. Strong malty/caramel aroma, with a light spicing. Crystal clear orange/red color with a tight white head. Medium body. Carbonation is very fine bubbles, but seems a little undercarb’d. Flat in the finish. Malty caramel sweetness upfront in the flavor. Some floral notes. Very well balanced. Alcohol noticeable in the finish, along with some spiciness. Overall, a very interesting beer, with some nice complexities. Could easily become a favorite. vitaminT (9), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2006 Big maltly aroma with little to no hops aroma. The color is a deep amber with orange hues. Slightly sweet caramel flavor with enough hop bitterness to balance with an earthy finish. NeonLX (258), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2006 I had no clue what to expect with this. What I got was a crystal clear red-amber brew with a medium off-white head. Mild grainy aroma. First taste is heavy on the roasted nuts with hazlenut being predominant (?). Slightly overcarbonated for my tastes. Finish had an almost ESB-like quality with plenty o’ hops. Very interesting--and quite good. CharlesDarwin (1843), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 Julios Spring Beer Festival. Distinct aroma of strong sheep wool and horse barn. Pour of fiery centered half clouded amber. Head of off-white. Flavor is an interesting concoction of tart malt, sweet floral fruit and a good mouth full of rough grain. The slightly wild character is subdued in this example, but it’s fairly interesting nonetheless. Still, a little thin bodied. Smack of pear stems. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2006 Bottle from Thaichile. Clear, medium amber colored with a miniscule white head that fades quickly. Some lacing left. Caramel aroma, perhaps a bit cidery. Medium bodied with a lower carbonation level. Sweet malt seems to dominate the front of this beer, a bit of hop slides in around the middle for a bit of balance. Decently done, nothing really overwhelming but certainly drinkable. konair1 (64), Chicago, Illinois, USA
