| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2005 Thanks to jsquire for this brew. Pours A cloudy amber to brown with a small white head that mostly dissipates. Aroma is malty and hoppy with a hint of vanilla spice and yeast. Initial flavor is malt and yeast with a spicy and fizzy hop finish. Medium-bodied palate and burpy. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2005 Updated: Feb 20, 2006This has been sitting in my refridgerator for a while. Poured a very dark amber with a huge slightly yellowish head. The aroma is caramel, corn and toffee. Notes of apples as well. The taste is surprisingly dry. Caramel and toasted nuts are in here. There are some interesting grassy hay notes and a little bit of lemon in the finish. Soft in the mouth, yet complex. Very well made. beerhandy (195), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 4, 2005 Gold haziness topped with a huge meringue head. Aromas of earthy spiciness lots of esters almost perfumey. Nice full mouthfeel from excess carbonation, bready flavors with a slight lactic twinge finishes dry. It’s a Feb 04 bottle this is going to get funkier with age. Good Stuff r464 (287), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Brown with a huge overflowing head. Malty with an earthy sweetness and some bitterness to the finish. There are parts of it that I like, but overall I am not thrilled with it. Perhaps it is the style or a bad bottle, but I would not go for another. Braudog (3774), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Dec 31, 2004 Amber and hazy, with a high degree of chunky sediment. Lemon-grassy aroma. This strikes me as watery at first, with a caramel sting and an even waterier finish. Missed the mark. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 28, 2004 Had it on tap at the blind pig in champaign illinois. Not bad. Not great. I just dont like the style so its not exactally fair how I feel about this one. It was kind of funky, lager funk. Funk just doesnt do it for me. Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 13, 2004 Updated: Sep 7, 2006Hazy brown copper ale with a strong diacetyl nose. Sweet honey malt and light spices. Nice bodied, but not very French! (July 31 at Indiana Microbrewers Festival)
Hazy orange ale with a thin off white head. Light orange peels and oxidized malt in aroma. In mouth, a lightly spiced sweet malt, with notes of honey, again very unlike a Garde (Sept 7 2006, Bottle)
