The aroma is lightly toasted malt and caramel. Light to medium bodied. The flavor is a little tart but overall a mild blend of malt, fruit, hops and caramel. The finish is a bit uneven, not my favorite beer by a longshot. fuyajo (225), Portland, Oregon, USA

The aroma is mildly toasted malt and caramel. Light-bodied and smooth with a kind of low amount of carbonation. The flavor is a little tart but overall a mild blend of malt, bread, hops and caramel. The finish is very smooth, making for a fairly good session beer overall. I would get this again but it’s a little simple in places. aracauna (2389), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2004 The body is a deep red amber. This is a gorgeous hue. The head is a weak white. The aroma is candied yams with the caramel malt and yeast fruitiness playing tricks. The flavor suggests sweetness but there isn’t much. Interesting little beer. P-tor44 (886), Anchorage, Alaska, USA

Deep, sweet maltiness with slight biscuity, toasty edge. As they say, just enough hops to scrub the palate and save this from being cloying. Savory and drinkable. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2004 Dark amber in color; thinnish head. Decent mouthfeel ... smooth malts and moderate carbonation. Rather malty: biscuity, grainy, and toasted. Balanced bitterness (flowery, herbal). Mild and predictable on some fronts, but decent in others. Not a bad beer to drink.
