Cloudy gold, spicy aroma. Flavor is rather dry and low in spice, even though billed as a German hefeweizen. Dry finish.

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, bread), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a note of banana, hint of plastic/solvent. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Aside from the lackluster aroma, something just isn't right in the flavor profile...sourness is lactic/infected sour. Another very disappointing brew from Two Brothers, relative to the average score here. Maybe they're just having problems keeping their equipment clean this year? All I know is this pretty much a drain pour.

New rating, 2/26/06. Got a fresher bottle this time (best by 1/30/06), so let’s recheck this pup: I can see I was seduced then by malts that get concentrated with age. This one pours a darker gold color, and a bit more haze than in most American iterations of a weizen. Big banana nose at pour, but not much in the glass, just a sprightly wheat character under a fluffy, short-lived head, poured into a 12-oz. weizen glass. Banana comes back in the taste, with mild notes of clove, and a touch of bubble-gum and vanilla. Not quite the heady feeling I get when drinking a properly-presented Hacker-Pschorr, but I think real Hefeweizen fans will enjoy it. <hr>Original rating, 9/28/03: 7-3-7-4-15
Another 3-year-old bottle from my stash, so this is a review of how well it ages, which a weiss is not meant to do.
A slight flowery nose when opened, then pours a dark weiss color, with a little less than standard haziness. The spicy flavor has subsided, leaving the malt to deepen to an almost syrupy richness. Hop flavor is subtle, more to make the alcohol feel a little warmer. Taste is well out of the style profile, but ages to a fine beer nonetheless.

light-medium golden....very hazy, thin white head. aroma is very sweet...little banana, and some cotton candy. flavor is sweet as well with a bit of yeast. pretty friggin' decent

Yellow in color, hazy, with a small white head that is mostly diminishing. Light yeast/dough aroma highlighted by the typical banana & bubblegum. Moderately sweet flavor, likewise in the finish. Creamy, medium-full body is smooth and satisfying.

I detect a strong roasted note in the flavor...reminded me strongly of hog dogs. Not very sweet. Cloudy, orangy straw color. Just a touch of spice lingers at the end.

Very strong smell--cloves maybe, or stale bread. Not the same as other hefewiezens.

Nice cloudy appearance, good floral aroma, sweet flavours - orange, yeast and sugary banana. Lacking the peppery spice I enjoy about many wheats. . . oh well.
