When this is fresh the hop aroma is very good. It isn’t the most bitter of IPAs, but plenty of piney hoppiness prevails throughout. A nicely balanced beer, enough malt to hold up to the hops, but not so much as to lose its hop identity. Not the very best of IPAs, but very enjoyable indeed. A go to IPA when one is needed. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Very easy to drink. Quite surprised at how unlike an IPA this seems to be. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2007 <bottle from Archer Liquors> Crimson fiery amber pour with a quickly fading offwhite head. Smell is light, fresh hops and sweet candy like sugary malt. Taste is nicely hopped, but mild for 60 IBUs. Candy like sweetness follows mild fresh hop flavor. Not soapy, and is easy to drink. Sweetness turns almost to grain-like sweetness as it warms. All in all I’m very happy with this, and would recommend it as a nice mild IPA. oh6gdx (8948), Vasa, Finland

Amber/copper color, small off-white head. Cut grassy hops in not so intensive aroma. Malty, sticky hoppy with average palate. Nicely drinkable IPA. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Orange copper pour with nice white head. Aroma is big on grapefruit and pine. Same goes for the taste, it would scored higher if it was a little "juicier"
slight malt flavors mix wel with the heavy hoppage. iowaherkeye (1860), Los Angeles, California, USA

Clear orange copper with a small light beige head, fades to a thick ring before long. Aroma of earthy piney hops and some caramel malts in equal amounts. Not very IPAish at all--I’d go more with an APA thus far. Flavor is much the same, though I suppose the bitterness is high enough for an IPA--a good 5 (of 10). There were some lightly sweet caramel notes, but the bitterness prevails. It should be noted that there is not this beer is not terribly flavorful or aromatic. Light creamy carbonation with a light to medium body. I wanted the hops to be much more lively and assertive due to the freshness of this beer, but it just didn’t happen.
