Tangy sweet orange, grapefruit and apple nose. Citrus flavors, medium bitter, decent malty base. Mildly thin. Bitter citrus finish. Solid but unspectacular IPA. cathschlag (48), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

Mousse peu abondante avec de très belles grosses bulles. Nez de pamplemousse légèrement sucré. Ronde en bouche. L’amertume se fait ressentir en milieu de dégustation et s’estompe en finale. Pas du tout d’effervescence. (Bouteille achetée chez Julio’s). merlin48 (518), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Pretty interesting brew here. Assertive malt presence of toffee and caramel overpowers the hops in most aspects. Appearance is cloudy orange, almost copper. Offwhite head fails to impress and lacing is scant. Taste is well balanced. Slight citrus and some grassy and pine hops struggle here with the assertive maltiness. Finishes pretty well balanced thanks to the assertive hops array. I really like this one but it’s a departure from the stated style. dkoonce (888), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Amber, with a constant streams of CO2 feeding the peaked off-white head. The aroma is floral and pine, very nice. Medium body, with a good malt presence. The hops start fairly aggressive and mellow. But, the finish is a bit harsh, as the malt leaves the palate and the trailing hops are not pleasant. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2006 Pours an amber color with a sligtly tannish color head. Aroma is of grapefruit, pine hops, caramel, and sweet malts. Nice aroma but I wish it were a little stronger. Starts off with the grapefruit flavor that gives way to the sweet malts and caramel. As with the aroma I was hoping for a stronger flavor. Not a bad brew, has great potential but doesn’t quite do it for me. kseecs16 (907), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2006 Bottle. Poured a clear copper amber with a very thin off-white head. A little lacing evident. A nice aroma of sweet aromatic hops. Balanced, fairly dry with a potent bitter finish. Full bodied, smooth and crisp. A good IPA but nothing jumped out at me as exceptional. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 5, 2006 This is a good looking beer. Red gold liquid poured in an explosion of fizzy bubbles that quickly resolved to a 2-finger snow-white rocky head that receded slowly with intricate lacing. Aromas were Grapefruit, lime, and spruce. Flavor was big grapefruit hops. As promised, it was Heavy-Handed. There was a little lemon/lime, herbs and sawdust, too. Very bitter, of course. Great reminder that, without hops, beer is just baby whiskey.
