apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Jan 8, 2008 Crystal-clear. Orange hue with a dainty, small bubbled head. The honey really abounds in the flavor of this beer/mead, which is pretty pleasant. It is well-matched with floral notes and a mild spiciness. Delicate, floral aroma with some honey and just a hint of malts. As a Bragot goes, its pretty good.
alexanderj (1218), San Diego, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle; last rating in VA. Poured a clear, slightly toasted gold. Smallish off white head. Aroma of alcohol, honey and fruit; sweet. Flavor was more mellow than I thought. Apples, honey and fruit predominantly with some breadiness. ONly marginally sweet. Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t very tasty. ucusty (914), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville NC - thanks to Todd for sharing! Gold pour fluffy white head, and excellent lace. Alcoholic nose. Honey and fruit (mostly apple) dominate the flavor TURDFERGUSON (1115), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 22, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to ucusty for sharing! Pours a clear orange with a nice white lace. Nose is paint thinner and honey, but mainly the former. Flavor is much better than the nose, but is very bland with a bit of honey. Meh. emacgee (1010), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours a translucent honey gold. Thin white head. The nose is sweet, has some honey, lots of apple in the nose. Flavor is decent, lots of apple, sweet, honey. Sweet sticky mouthfeel. JCB (949), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 20, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to ucusty for sharing! Golden orange pour with faint carbonation. Nice tart apple nose seems to veer away from style just a touch, but sure enough the brew (fairly mild) finishes with strong flavors of honey and even a trace of vanilla here and there.
