Almost no head, but laces as it fades down the glass. Aroma is full of American hops, very citrus-like a grapefruit. Initial taste is bitter, mid palate showcases the hops beautifully, but fades to harsh bitterness and alcohol warming at the end. Nice balance of malt sweetness. Definitely a beer to be savored. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2009 What a good beer! Pours a caramel hue with a nice off white head that leaves sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel with pine. Feel is smooth as a prom queen’s thighs. Flavors are pine hop to the nines and caramel sweetness to match. Some applesauce and a bit of grapefruit. Nothing here is overpowering or over the top. This beer is delightful. dchmela (1458), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Courtesy Beerlando. Pours a nice copper red with a thin white head. Huge pine citrus resiny hop aroma. Big malt body with lots of big spicy citrus pine and just plain thick hop flavor. Big chewy and resiny. Pretty good DIPA. Color is crystal clear beautiful amber. Head disapates fairly quickly but leaves a nice lacing. Scentes of pine but not overpowering with malt in the background. Holds a malty flavor that balances perfectly with the hops while the alcohol just comes through. Drinks smooth... (dangerously smooth) I can certainly finish a couple of these in one sitting at home. Overall an exceptional example of an Imperial IPA with amazing drinkability. Another great beer from the brothers in Warrenville, IL.

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Tap in a snifter at two brothers tap house. Thin white head that emanates with aromas of pine, citrus, tropical fruits, and just a hint of malts, like caramel. The hop flavor is intense, the 100 ibus really hit you. Its sweet, and from that youd expect more of a caramel malt kick, but the hops really are overwhelming, nice and resiny, almost sticky. The beer finishes nice and long. Something I hope to enjoy again soon. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2009 22 oz bottle purchased at Chuck’s Liquor in Bowling Green. Poured a clear amber color with orange highlights, and a one finger off white head that quickly dissipated into only a few bigger bubbles. Lots of lacing present. The aroma contains mucho pine hops, caramel and a bit of citrus. The flavor was a sweet malt base, with sugar and caramel. A strong pine finish with lingering bitterness. There is also something in the middle that just doesn’t taste right. The palate was above average, with a slick and sticky mouthfeel, surprisingly soft carbonation and a medium body. Overall this is a decent beer, but just doesn’t rank up there with the Dreadnaughts, Plinys and Hopslams of the world. biker30x (3), , USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 23, 2009 On tap at 2 Bros in a snifter. Waves of pine resin, grapefruit & alcohol rising through the full almond colored head, lacing present throughout. Poured a thick hazy amber. Taste those hops. Pine, citrus and a hint of vanilla from the malt. The alcohol warms (burns?) the palate while the hops sting. It’s thick in your mouth and lingers with a floral/alcohol aftertaste. Surprisingly drinkable. The power of each flavor makes up for the lack (expected in a DIPA) of balance. Having also had it bottled, the only difference is a slightly increased vibrancy on tap. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Bottle pours a slightly hazed amber red with a decent head and lots of lace. The aroma is of hops and some malt to anticipate a nice balanced IIPA. The flavor is seriously caramel, sugar cookies, hops and hops performed nicely. The palate is suitable for the sweet/bitter dance. This is a nice beer. I like it!
