Smell is subtle hops and a ton of malt. Taste is much the same. I don’t know when this was bottled, but I just bought it yesterday. This is all malt, all the time. Medium body on the mouthfeel. I was expecting something different and alot more hops. mreusch (736), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Bomber, pours a clear orange/copper color with a moderate white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is pine, orange peel, and caramel. Flavor is certainly hoppy, with a solid malt backbone, but nothing too exciting. The alcohol is well hidden, and there is a lingering bitterness that is pleasant. Agree with a lot of comments here - average... nimbleprop (918), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2007 There’s something to be said for the head on a beer. Beer without a nice foamy head is barely recognizable as beer. This beer has no head atop the nearly opaque bronze/orange body. Smell is more mild than other DoubleIPAs, plenty of hops, but notes of flowers and pine. Flavor is anything but mild, strong lemony citrus flavor, pine, grapefruit with a touch of malt and caramel at the end. Finish is lasting bitterness and the high alcohol hits you hard. I expected more of the resin the description offers, but all in all, it was an above average IIPA. jarspag (599), Los Angeles, California, USA

One of those caramel-syrupy, orange juice like IPA’s. No thanks on this one... no bite and nothing to get excited about at all. Odeed (1677), Bakersfield, California, USA

Pours a hazy copper with an average size beige head. Nose is pure citrus hopiness.and then some! It tastes almost like smells but has a VERY DRY finish...and lots of grapefruit in the aftertaste.but again it is dry not sweet n juicy. Body is medium, carbonation is moderate/high. Quite good, but needs more flavor/dry hops to be GREAT...... RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Updated: Nov 19, 2007Pours a brownish orange. Minimal head. Perfumed nose with mild citrus tones. Flavor is syrup like with hop character, of course. More of a bark like thing going on than anything else. This doesn’t carry the mass of citrus that other DIPAs do. Feels nice on the mouth, though a bit syrup like and sticky. This is a pretty nice DIPA. Certainly isn’t bringing a huge amount of character, but is smooth and nice to drink. naivepegasus (185), USA

Overpowering citrus and hop aromas. Starts off light and sweet, and ends with a strong hoppy bitterness. Very strong hop flavor, and a surprisingly well masked alcohol throughout. If you like hops, you’ll LOVE this beer.
