Drank at the Clark Street Ale House on a nicely cleaned and well-poured handpump. Not sure why this doesn’t get the ratings here, perhaps it’s not quite one-dimensional enough. Wonderful, dirty, and, well, unique. jstraw (774), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Orange-amber with big, frothy off-white head / Fresh pine, floral, orange & grapefruit nose / Medium body with excellent balance between hops, alcohol and fruit / Complex flavors of fresh pine, violets, clover, grapefruit, orange, and burnt sugar / A tad overly sweet; otherwise, a terrific 2ipa - rivals 3 Floyd’s Dreadnaught. Pours a deep burnt orange with great head. Great lacing. Was a littel afraid of the taste, but after a few swigs I really enjoyed it. Very, very smooth and drinkable for a double IPA. IBU’s were just right and that really backed up the malt profile. Great malt choices, not too complex or too many varieties, which made this IIPA stand out. The flavor is good, but not as amazing as the aroma. Tastes of the same fruits as well as herbs. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Poured from a 22oz bottle into a shaker. This beer poured a crystal clear amber color with a thick, rocky beige head that slowly faded. Some extra thick lacing was left around the glass. The aroma consisted of grapefruit and caramel. The flavor was very nice!! It was made up of a strong caramel malt presence at the beginning that turned into a fruity, sweet, citrus bitterness. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and slightly oily. Just the right amount of carbonation. This beer was really well done. Excellent balance and flavor for a double IPA. AOF (282), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Pure copper in color, excellent clarity with an average off white head. Sticky lacing throughout the drink. Nose is excellent. Lots of piney hops, lemongrass, floral citrus and sweet malt. No hint of the 10% ABV. Medium in body with a crisp, slightly tangy finish. Hard to believe this is 100 IBUs. A very good beer from this local brewery. cbkschubert (2004), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2007 22 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a hazy amber color with a thin off white head. Lacing is very light with tiny spots. Aroma is citrus hops and very light toasted malt. Flavor is mostly citrus hops, light esters, and light malt. The hops seem to linger on the palate which is a little thin. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Medium body. A nice beer, but doesn’t quite fit the 2IPA bill. Thanks Wendy and Bill. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 5, 2007 On cask @ B3W downtown Indy. Poured hazy (slightly) light copper with frothy off white head. This beer has a big citrus grapefruit hop aroma with sweet malts. The cask draft seems to have muted the hoppy aroma a bit. I taste grapefruit hop bitterness and sweeter grapefruit hop flavor along with a refreshing undercurrent of malt sweetness. Spot on IIPA on cask. Delicious.
