This beer has a big citrus grapefruit hop aroma with sweet malts. The cask draft seems to have muted the hoppy aroma a bit. I taste grapefruit hop bitterness and sweeter grapefruit hop flavor along with a refreshing undercurrent of malt sweetness. Spot on IIPA on cask. Delicious. gmcase (113), Indiana, USA

Besides for celebrating this beer I would like to celebrate this brewery as a huge inspiration for me. 22 oz bomber purchased at
cardinal liquors. Dark golden off-white head. Great orange/piney aroma. Sweet with nice grapefruit bitterness, some kiwi as well. Med body. Very good overall and sorry that DrewBeerMe did not get a good bottle/did not enjoy it this year. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA

Smell is full of pine.I smell justa bit of caramel. Taste is a bit watery, with soft pine and toffee flavors. This one is good, but needs some work to be great. merlin48 (520), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 21, 2007 22 oz bottle pours a beautifully clear and radiant amber orange body with a lasting almond head. Plenty of patchy lacing. Aroma is leafy and earthy with a pine resin dominance. Taste follows suit with dry and bitter hop resins. Very little malt sweetness results in a lack of balance. A real hop monster!
